Get to Know John
John Horton joined Abacus! in February 2020 as the CIO / IT Director within the Information Technology department. In his role, he oversees all aspects of the firm’s technology operations—managing systems, infrastructure, and strategy to ensure Abacus remains efficient, secure, and forward-focused.
John earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Southwest Missouri State University. He is passionate about proactively preventing problems and creating technology solutions that keep people productive and connected. His leadership and community impact have been recognized through multiple honors, including being named one of Springfield Business Journal’s Men of the Year (2013) and receiving the O. Franklin Kennedy Award (2012).
Outside of work, John enjoys golfing and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals. What he appreciates most about Abacus! is the culture and shared drive for excellence that motivates every team member.
