Get to Know Alaina
Alaina Duncan joined Abacus! in July 2025 as Training and Compliance Coordinator within the Department of Excellence. In her role, she oversees all aspects of learning and training firm-wide. She administers the learning management system, builds compliance tracking systems, and develops structured CPE roadmaps for different staff groups. Alaina also creates guides, templates, and learning tools that make professional development accessible and sustainable. She champions the Department of Excellence’s vision by ensuring that training goes beyond compliance, elevating client service and staff growth across the firm.Â
Alaina earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Missouri State University. Before joining Abacus!, she spent eight years as a K–12 public school teacher and curriculum editor/writer. She also works alongside her parents to help manage their remodeling and rental business. She is passionate about equipping people with the tools, training, and clarity they need to grow and excel. At the heart of her work is a desire to make learning smart, simple, strategic, and motivating, driving both individual development and firm-wide impact.Â
Outside of work, Alaina enjoys watercolor painting, kayaking, hiking, camping, attending concerts and movies, dabbling in photography, and spending time with her family, including her three dogs. Her favorite part about working at Abacus! is the people. The people-driven culture, paired with the firm’s shared pursuit of excellence, inspires her to grow every day.Â
