Abacus! is excited to announce Stacy Mathews as a recipient of the 2025 Abacus Values Award for Ownership. Stacy is a Senior Accountant in Tax and Accounting Services.

Stacy is excellent in situations that require strategic organization of information. She sets priorities and puts them into appropriate sequences. Her talent with both strategies and tactics makes her essential to any massive effort.

“I have been working toward streamlining the training process for new staff members since I started with Abacus! two years ago. I saw many approaches that didn’t result in the desired outcomes. Instead of shrugging my shoulders and saying, ‘I tried,’ I persisted in pushing for a better approach,” Stacy said.

The Abacus Values Award for Ownership recognizes an employee who has exemplary pride in their work, a desire to succeed and loyalty. Stacy’s dedication to improving processes and experiences is a skill her colleagues admire.

When recognized with this award, Stacy said, “There was a mixture of emotions. I was proud of myself because I know how hard I’ve worked all year long and surprised because there are so many people at Abacus! who are incredible. I was so grateful to know that others recognized how hard I’ve worked.”

Looking ahead, Stacy said, “Knowing that my efforts are recognized and celebrated pushes me to want to work even harder and ensure the leadership team at Abacus! knows they made the right choice when they decided to shine a light on my contribution to the firm.”

Stacy attributes this recognition to her passionate mindset. She said, “I have a passion for making our clients’ and my peers’ experiences better.”

The Abacus Values Awards were created in 2020 to recognize individuals who fully exemplify Abacus Values in how they live, work and build relationships with clients and coworkers. Each recipient demonstrated exceptional understanding and achievement in client support and professional relationships.
